President Nominates Next Chief of Space Force

General Raymond will retire after a 38 year military career.

Last week, President Joe Biden nominated Lt. General B. Chance Saltzman to be the second-ever chief of operations for the U.S. Space Force. Lt. General Saltzman is the current deputy chief of operations for cyber and nuclear operations for the Space Force and was originally commissioned as a U.S. Air Force officer in 1991. His nomination will be reviewed for approval by the Senate in the coming weeks.

“He has operational experience with missile and space systems, as a Minuteman III launch officer, and as a satellite operator for the National Reconnaissance Office,” the Space Force website states. “He also served as the first chief of combat plans for the Joint Space Operations Center, and later, as chief of combat operations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president to seek God’s direction as he nominates federal and military officials.
  • For Lt. General Saltzman as he prepares for the Senate confirmation.
  • For the members of the Senate as they consider the Space Force appointee.
